Updates & Member News...
Greetings Members of Ohio5

Hello fellow Knights
It looks like the weather is finally going to give us a break. The June after meeting ride is scheduled/or has happened and hopefully we had fun ! We still need your turnout for the monthly meetings. Hopefully you have the interest in what’s going on or will go on and what the heck, you paid your dues and are entitled to input into your club’s activities.
There is a special event coming up in July for the Marine division Lima Co. and the Road Captains are putting the ride together so we can participate as a club. Hope to see as many of you there as possible.
The convention is quickly coming up and if you haven’t made reservations, you might want to do so as soon as you can. Additionally, there are day passes available for a nominal fee and I think this would be worthwhile for those that can’t attend the entire convention. Any questions, please contact me.
Keep in mind that our charity ride is coming up in September and we will need help in passing out flyers and help during the event. Please find the time if you have some available to give us a hand in making this another spectacular event.
OH5 Member, Jody Morgan is recovering from her motorcycle accident, so please keep her in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.
See you all on the road and ride safely. •
Jeff Peters, President
Ohio Chapter 5

OH5 Club News and Update
From Red Knights of OH5
RK International Convention for 2008

Hello Ohio Chapter Members
A statewide meeting of the RKMC Chapters and MAL members in Ohio was held on November 2nd, 2002, in Bellville, Ohio. As a result of that meeting, the Ohio Association was formed. The purpose of the Association was to guide new Chapters, gain new members and develop new Chapters, to unify the existing Chapters and Members at Large and to keep members in the state informed on issues and upcoming events. At that time we had 4 active Chapters in Ohio. OH 1, OH 4, OH 5 & OH 6. We now have 12 active chapters in our State.
Ohio was the first State to form an Association. We now have 10 approved and 6 pending Associations in the Red Knights. Ohio has set the standard to which all other Associations are set up by.
In 2008, the Ohio Association will be the first state Association to host the Red Knights International Firefighters Motorcycle Club’s Annual Convention.
As you know it will be held in Sandusky at the Kalahari Water Resort, August 20 -24, 2008. We are expecting this to set a record for the number of members in attendance.
The Ohio Chapters who take part in the planning and the duties will share equally in the profits from hosting the Convention.
We already have other Associations watching to see how we work together in hosting this convention so that they may follow suit.
Let’s set the standard high for all that follows the Ohio Association. •
Bill “Popeye” Snodgrass
International Secretary
Past Ohio State Representative.

As
our President said, your OH5 Road Captains have been
busy planning a great ride schedule.
You can now check out the rides planned after each OH5
meeting and the independent rides for our club
here.
You will see several day rides, and overnight rides.
Of course the rides will only be as fun as those who
attend. The more the better. Make plans now to get
these new rides on your calendar... we hope you can
attend as many as you can.
As always, send your ride ideas and wishes to:
redknightsoh5@yahoo.com
You may have a great riding adventure that many
members would like to attend!
Ohio5 will also have several community projects for
2008. Any member that would like to be included in an
OH5 project needs only to show up and dig in! These
projects will help others in need and be a wonderful
expression to the public of what our Red Knights can
do!
But most of all for 2008... we all want to have a
great time with lots of fun rides and activities for
our members to attend and share. Also keep in mind, the

will be held in Sandusky Ohio this summer. You can find
more information about the convention at:

Big Hearts & Horsepower…
Did you ever go to summer camp as a kid? Good times,
huh? Same here. Well, right now in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, a
camp is being started for very sick kids (but still
very much kids) that we are going to become involved
with, and we’d like you to join us.
The name is
Flying Horse Farm,
and it is slated to open in 2009. The roots of this
camp can be traced to the actor Paul Newman, whose Hole
in the Wall Gang has created similar camps around the
country and in other parts of the world.
For our part, we’ve formed the Hole in the Ground Gang,
and have committed to building the swimming pool! This
will be no ordinary pool: All campers, regardless of
ability or limits, will be able to use it.
We are busily raising funds as well as in-kind support
for the pool project. What kind of support, you say?
Oh, you know, stuff like tons of concrete, gravel, sand
and dirt, thousands of feet of water line, special
equipment to warm kids after a cool dip lowers their
body temps too much, bulldozers and backhoes or
hundreds of shovels so we can dig the hole, the usual.
If you want to learn more or help us create a network
for getting this project done, visit
www.flyinghorsefarms.org
or
send a note to info@adfarrow.com
